About the Vision
Our blog promotes low-cost (or FREE, hence the name) activities for parents and families in Westchester.
The idea came to life after Kristen and her family moved from Jersey City without knowing much about Westchester County. Jennifer, a lifelong New York native, offered unique suggestions and fun ideas, which began her passion for writing.
At such a turbulent time, with the pandemic and significant life changes, these adventures brought us- and our families- closer together. This journey inspired us to share our knowledge and experiences with families facing similar challenges.
Meet the Writers
Jennifer, a lifelong New York native, and Kristen, new to the area from Jersey City, are the passionate writers behind Free Westchester. Together, they bring a unique perspective and fresh voice to the community.
Jennifer
Jennifer has lived in Westchester County all her life with her husband of 7 years, Adam. She is a passionate mother of three beautiful children and an adorable (but troublesome) retriever named Beaver. Jennifer has loved creating throughout her life and still enjoys doing so in the kitchen through her passion for baking.

Kristen is a passionate storyteller who started writing during the pandemic. As a stay-at-home mother of two, Jenna (5) and Matthew (3), Kristen writes about adventures and activities during nap times. Kristen and her husband, Mike, are originally from New Jersey but moved to New York in January 2020.
