As a mom, finding the ideal playground for my kids can be quite the adventure. With a wealth of options throughout Westchester County, I've gathered a list of some of the top playgrounds that provide not only entertainment but also a welcoming atmosphere and family-friendly amenities. Check out my favorites below, and let's make the most of our sunny days together!

Pierson Park - Tarrytown, NY


Located along the picturesque Hudson River waterfront, Pierson Park is a hidden treasure for families. The playground's expansive structure is designed for children of all ages and skill levels. An appealing feature is the splash pad, which offers a fun way for kids to cool off during sweltering summer days.


There are picnic areas perfect for enjoying homemade lunches while immersed in nature. With stunning views of the river, this park serves as a memorable backdrop for family photos.

Roselle Park - Pleasantville, NY


For a cozy community atmosphere, Roselle Park in Pleasantville is the perfect choice. This charming playground features a sandbox, which kids love for building and playing. A unique touch is the collection of toys available for children to borrow and share.

Jack's Friendship Garden - New Rochelle, NY


Jack's Friendship Garden is another fantastic option, especially for families needing wheelchair accessibility. This spacious playground also boasts a sandbox that consistently captivates children.


Situated next to the Huguenot Children's Library, this location makes it easy to combine a fun day of play with a visit to the library for a captivating story. With play structures tailored for various age groups, every child will find something to enjoy.

Riverfront Green Park - Peekskill, NY


At Riverfront Green Park, the stunning views never cease to amaze. This playground provides ample room for kids to run and explore. Additionally, artistic sculptures contribute to a creative and engaging atmosphere.

Plus, during springtime, there are some breathtaking cherry blossoms, adding breathtaking beauty to your visit.

Kensico Dam Plaza - Valhalla, NY


For a day filled with adventure, Kensico Dam Plaza is the ideal destination. This spacious playground is adjacent to a large grassy area perfect for running, playing ball, and other outdoor fun. The paved plaza and sidewalk that surrounds the grassy area is also ideal for bike riding. There's also a well-maintained picnic area and for great views, you can hike to the top of the dam.


While the playground here is great, the amenities are what really make this spot! The open spaces inspire kids to let their imaginations run wild, whether they are playing tag or exploring the picturesque surroundings.

Nature's Discovery Playground at Greenburgh Nature Center - Scarsdale, NY


Nature's Discovery Playground is not just a typical playground; it integrates education and exploration into play. The unique "bird's nest" feature attracts children's curiosity and encourages imaginative play. Located within the Greenburgh Nature Center, kids can enjoy the playground and then immerse themselves in various learning experiences, from visiting the barnyard to seeing birds of prey.

Saxon Woods Playground - White Plains, NY


If your children enjoy climbing, Saxon Woods Playground is a must-visit. Featuring two dedicated play structures for different age levels, kids can find appropriate challenges and engage in play safely.

The exciting spider web climbing structure was a favorite among my kids, providing a fun way to build climbing skills.

Leewood Park - Eastchester, NY


Leewood Park features a multifunctional playground that truly has something for everyone. Kids can enjoy swings, a rope obstacle course, and even exercise equipment for adults, conveniently located across from the play area.


The park was recently renovated and opened this past March, and the whole park is absolutely beautiful! There's now even more fun features and ample picnic space, making it a great spot for relaxation after playtime.

Flint Park - Larchmont, NY


Flint Park stands out with its large playground, featuring distinctive climbing structures, rope courses, and a fun sand pit. Kids can engage in various activities, whether they prefer to climb high or dig deep! This park is also newly renovated, with some truly unique features my kids absolutely loved. With nearby picnic areas and nature trails, this park is ideal for families looking to spend a day surrounded by adventure.

Bruce Park - Greenwich, CT


Just over the border in Connecticut, Bruce Park deserves a mention for its outstanding reputation. This large playground boasts separate structures tailored for different age groups, ensuring that kids can play safely and comfortably. Available amenities include a bright sand pit and spacious picnic areas, making it a favorite among families.
