June is here, and with it comes the beginning of summer fun all across Westchester County! As a local parent, I’m always on the lookout for events that keep my kids entertained and don’t cost a fortune. Thankfully, Westchester delivers with a lineup of fabulous free festivals, fairs, and cultural celebrations that are perfect for the whole family. Here’s a round-up of the best free events this June in Westchester — pack your sunscreen and get ready to make some memories!

Date: June 1st

Time: 10:00am-5:00pm

Location: 50 Main Street, Tarrytown

Stroll through charming downtown Tarrytown and explore over 75 arts & crafts vendors, enjoy live music, delicious food, face painting, a cartoonist, and even a performance by Witches Along the Hudson. It’s a great kickoff to the season with something for everyone in the family!

Location: Kensico Dam Plaza, 1 Bronx River Parkway, Valhalla

Immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions of various cultures as part of a series of cultural festivals hosted by Westchester Parks throughout the summer! The Albanian Festival will take place on June 1st, followed by the African-American Festival on June 22nd. Experience the vibrant traditions of both cultures with live music, food, vendors, and performances. Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs and settle in for a day of celebration and community! These events are not just festivals; they are opportunities to learn, appreciate, and engage with the beautiful diversity that enriches our community. Location: 191 South Greeley Avenue, Chappaqua

This sweet tradition has been running for 88 years and features strawberry shortcake (of course!), live music, games, a bounce castle, a slime bar, a petting zoo, and local vendors. A classic summer vibe in the heart of Chappaqua!










Date: June 7th

Time: 6:00-9:00pm, pre-event from 3:45-5:45pm

Location: Wharburton Ave, Hastings-on-Husdon

The Hastings community is uniting to celebrate Pride with a march, a live concert, and a variety of family-friendly activities, including a giant rainbow slide, face painting, spray paint art, kids' craft activities, dancing, community quiltmaking, a scavenger hunt, temporary tattoos, and games. The festivities kick off with a pre-event at Good Witch from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., featuring family banner-making and a march to Warburton at 5:45 p.m. led by the Brass Queens. The main event at the VFW Plaza will feature a live concert, vendors, and rainbow cookie decorating.

Location: Wampus Brook Park, 41 Wampus Avenue, Armonk

The 49th Annual Fol-de-Rol Fair and Market in the Park, organized by the Armonk Lions Club, is a beloved tradition in Armonk, offering entertainment for all ages. The event features rides, games, crafts, a petting zoo, fun races, live music, plenty of local vendors, and even a car and pet parade!

Location: Mamaroneck Avenue & Court Street, White Plains

Let your little artists shine! Kids can participate in free, hands-on art classes with professional teaching artists and take home their own masterpiece — all part of Cross County Center’s Summer Fest.

Time: 12:00-3:00pm

Location: 51 Route 100, Katonah

Truck and tractor lovers — this one’s for you! Get up close and personal with the machines that make the farm run. It’s educational and a total blast for kids who love all things big and loud.

Time: 10:00am-3:00pm

Location: 51 Route 100, Katonah

Celebrate pollinators with local beekeepers! This sweet (literally) event offers bee-themed kid activities, talks, and vendors with honey and bee-related products. This is a fun way to welcome summer and learn about nature with the whole family.

Time: 10:00am-7:00pm

Location: 8000 Mall Walk, Yonkers

Bring your little ninjas for a high-energy day on a mobile ninja course. Kids can jump, climb, and swing their way through fun physical challenges — totally free and tons of fun!

Location: Court Street between Main Street & Martine Avenue, White Plains

Celebrate Puerto Rican heritage with vibrant music, live bomba drumming and dancing, delicious food, crafts, performances by the Carlos Jimenez Mambo Orchestra, and a parade led by the festive vejigante, a traditional Puerto Rican character associated with carnivals. A joyful day of culture, family, and fun!

Time: 6:45-11:30pm

Location: Harbor Island Park, Mamaroneck

Experience 10 days of celebration at the Mamaroneck Fire Department's Carnival, which includes a parade, traditional carnival rides, and a spectacular fireworks finale at Harbor Island Park. The fireworks show is set for July 4th, with a rain date on July 5th.






Final Thoughts
